Stages & Goals of Care
There are 3 basis stages of care. Each stage of care has specific Goals to be achieved in order for the healing process.
1) Initial Intensive Care - If an ache, pain, or other obvious symptom has prompted you to begin Chiropractic care, the first thing you want is to feel better. Office visit frequency will be determined on how long the problems have been there, how severe the problem is, and what the examination reveals.
The GOAL will be to correct the Subluxations, which will result in decreasing the dis-comfort and feeling better as quickly as possible.
2) Corrective Care - Muscle and other soft tissue damage often remain after your original symptoms have improved. Corrective care stabilizes your spine and probmotes more complete healing. Visit frequency is reduced and you may be encouraged to supplement your care with exercises and other home care procedures.
The GOAL will be to continue correcting the subluxations, improve flexibility and strengthen the surrounding muscles, which will improve stability and minimize the risk of relapses.
3) Maintenance / Wellness Care - When maximum improvement is reached, regular Chiropractic "checkups" are recommended. Like other healthy habits, maintenance and wellness care will save money by allowing you to stay well and prevent future problems. Health-conscious adults choose this type of care for themselves and their family. The GOAL will be to maintain a healthy spine and wellness visits will detect and correct new problems before becoming serious.
* It is Critically important to understand the stages and goals of the care. Achieving goals in stages minimizes over utilization and over-adjusting of the Treatment/Care Plan.
One of our main goals here at Taira chiropractic is to educate our patients with information on:
1) What their condition is (Diagnosis)
2) How Chiropractic will help the body's healing ability & the outcome (Prognosis)
3) How long it will take to correct the problem
4) How much will the care will cost
An Essential goal is teaching people how they can utilize Chiropractic care on a maintenance basis to maintain and progress in the healthy lifestyles that one strives for. |
