What is the sound the adustment makes?

Most people associate chiropractic with a “popping” or “cracking” sound.  The sound is produced by the release of pressure that is within the joint capsule.  This is called the “audible”.  It’s similar to the opening of a champagne bottle.  As the bottle is opened, the release of the pressure creates a “popping” sound.

The sound that the adjustment creates is often mistaken for bones “cracking” or muscles “popping”.  It is suprising at first and is often one of the biggest apprehensions of chiropractic care.  Rest assure that with proper chiropractic adjustments the noise that is produced is simply the result of the release of pressure from the joint capsule.
