The "popping" sound, also called an "audible", is the result of joint pressure releasing when the joint is adjusted. Like the sound when opening a soda can or champagne bottle, the "popping" sound is a rapid release of pressure within a joint.  

Admittingly, some patient's biggest apprehension to Chiropractic care has been the "popping" or "cracking" sound! Many are relieved when they learn about the sound and what it really is.
